Barb I think you're right...it's been quite a while since Darren's words moved me so much. But that has probably got something to do with the fact that's it been a long time since he's done something like that. Always his words, be they written, or lyrics, have inspired me, and once again I find myself feeling something I'd (almost) forgotten. There was one particular phrase which freaked me out, because it's something my mum is always telling me. And I'd never heard it anywhere else before.

I've also got a lump in my throat having read some of the lyrics to California. Once again, how does this man put so much hurt and so much of how we feel as people into so few words? I can't wait to hear the song now.

I think I should also say that the chat benefitted so much from Chad's input too. So many times I've read stuff that he's posted and found it insightful, so if you're out there, Chad, I'm a fan!

Would die to have a one-to-one conversation like that...not in the flesh because I know I'd stand there like a dumb idiot! But in words, where I've got some chance at least of making sense.

Damn it feels good to be home! And thanks to my good friend for sharing.

<font size="3" face="Tempus sans ITC, Papyrus,Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Darren quoted them in one of the chat transcripts. I was lucky enough to have a friend who was in the chat room at the time and she shared them with me. She's not in the fan club either, but happened to be in the right place at the right time! All these times she's tried to get me in there, and I've resisted! LOL!

I was trying to think of the right words here...I guess I can understand why it is preferred for the chats not to be posted all over the place. I for one would hate to lose that openess from Darren, as a lot of what he said really struck a chord with me again. As I said before, I'd forgotten just how much it meant to me. BUGS! I can't express it properly.

I know we've had the conversation before, when the transcript from the singers/songwriters book was doing the rounds, about what should be posted, and when discretion is needed. The internet is a strange place like that, because I think we all tend to post immediately how we feel, then maybe come back and think 'I wish I hadn't said that'.

So I hope you don't mind if I PM you rather than post anything here...it's only a couple of lines anyway. I think I assumed that everyone had access to them already! Sorry.
